Advocates for Atlanta’s burgeoning street food scene say it has the potential to grow five to 10 times its current size and could become an economic driver that puts hundreds of local residents to work.
Johnny Crawford Jcrawford@ajc.com The Yumbii truck serves people in front of the Prominence building on Piedmont Road. The Atlanta Street Food Coalition is appealing for friendlier rules for the mobile businesses.
But to do so, they’ll need a friendlier permitting process, more favorable small business loans and regulations that open up areas in which to operate.

Midtown Neighbors’ Association Annual Meeting
Tuesday, January 18, 2011 – 5:30-8:00pm
Park Tavern, Midtown Atlanta
The Midtown Neighbors’ Association (MNA) will hold their Annual Meeting and Board of Director Elections on Tuesday, January 18th at the Park Tavern in Midtown Atlanta.
Traditionally held in April, the Annual meeting has been moved to January as the association changed its fiscal year last year.
The Association will elect 8 Board of Director Members for 2 year terms. (You might recall that I have been a Board Member for the past three years!)
The dinner is $10 for Adults and $5 for children. Non MNA members pay $15.
Midtown Neighbors’ Association was formed in 1969, is run by neighborhood volunteers. MNA is the only body officially recognized by the City of Atlanta government that represents the residents. MNA gives residents a place at the table on issues affecting the residents.

PARKatlanta to Meet with Midtown Neighbors
PARKatlanta to Meet with Midtown Neighbors!
I’m sure you’ve noticed in Midtown….parking meters are now EVERYWHERE!! And there has been LOTS of confusion about the times you can park, and for how long! If you’ve had issues with this, now is your time to meet with representatives from the City of Atlanta and PARKatlanta!
Please note below they ask you to submit questions in advance for the sake of time. (Or maybe to keep the audience for rioting over this hot issue!!!)
Dear Midtown Neighbors,
Please join us for a meeting with PARKatlanta, Alex Wan, and city officials to discuss the City’s Parking Program on Wednesday, September 15th at 6:00 pm in the Grady High School cafeteria. Please park in the 8th St. parking lot, and enter the cafeteria through the 8th St. entrance. (Grady HS is at 929 Charles Allen Dr., Atlanta, 30309)
This is an opportunity to ask questions about enforcement, parking signage, and the permitted parking programs/zones for our neighborhood. Since we only have a limited time (1.5 hours) and need to keep this meeting productive, please submit questions or suggested solutions to problems in advance to maria@mariabalais.com (also please copy your question to Traffic@midtownatlanta.org). PARKAtlanta will also have question sheets available at the meeting when you sign in.
Look forward to seeing you,
The PARKatlanta Team
Maria Balais
