Never fear! The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has put together a great list of the best places to see the Fall Colors in North Georgia! Any of these places is an easy day trip from Atlanta, but geez, if you are headed to the mountains, maybe an overnight at a local motel or even a cabin rental might be in order! (Cabin rentals for one night during the Fall Color time will probably be next to impossible to find, so check out motels that may have availability!)

If a day trip from Midtown Atlanta, hop on over to Whole Foods and get some great picnic supplies! Pack up the basket (add a bottle of wine but be careful with the driving!) and enjoy the great outdoors that North Georgia has to offer.
