1280 West Condominiums are a unique living option in Midtown Atlanta. First built in 1989,  this 40-story tower was the tallest residential building in Midtown Atlanta until the construction of The Atlantic Residences in 2009. 1280 West was first constructed as Oakwood Corporate Apartments, a corporate apartment building, and as such has an amazing array of amenites that are not found in ANY other Midtown Atlanta condominium community.

That said, 1280 West does have some challenges. When converted to condominiums, current tenants had the option to buy the home they were currently living in. With that option, came the option of purchasing the home “as-is” or having it upgraded with granite and stainless steel appliances. Owners went  both ways, and as a result, you have a mixture of renovated, and non-renovated homes. This of course plays with values.

But, if you are looking for a building that truly has everything you could ask for, then 1280 West Condominiums is the place. Just look at this list of amenities:

Since it was a corporate apartment building, homes did not have washer/dryers in the home. There is a laundry area on each floor that residents share. That said, some homes have been renovated to include a Euro Washer/Dryer in the kitchen in place of a dishwasher.

If you are an executive, or perhaps an airline pilot based in Atlanta but don’t live here full time, this could be an excellent choice for you. 1280 West Condominiums is located across the street from the Arts Center MARTA station, making Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport very accessible.

And since there has been no high rise construction around the building (the Trump Towers was going to be on the vacnat parcel to the South of this building and would have severly restricted the views from the South side of the building) the views are pretty amazing from any direction.
